Buried Under Winter
John McKenna
This is a song about a white-knuckle drive in a blizzard on a windy mountain road in the high country of Colorado. I got home and the power was out, and there was a note from my wife that she was leaving me for fairer climates. I said, Wow, I can't believe I fought that storm just to come home to this, great time to write a song I suppose. The lead solo at the beginning of this song represents quite well the mood of that nerve expanding drive in the blizzard.
But as always there is a happy ending and a New Blue Sky.
